UPPCO already easily meets the Michigan’s required Renewable Portfolio Standard requirement of having 15% renewable energy. This is in the form of hydropower (12% of fuel mix) and renewable fuels (7.5% of fuel mix). And 89% of the hydropower that makes up UPPCO’s total fuel mix is produced in the U.P.
